“A Fun Family Day!”

We family had our Xmas get together yesterday! We have Xmas day at home and then we catch up after which is easier with everyone working etc! πŸ™‚ Cody couldn’t come as he was working but he did see his gran and pa earlier in the week! πŸ™‚ My sis Ali, BIL Gav, niece Crystal and nephews Hayden and Mitchell came down from Ballarat! πŸ™‚

As it was a lovely day we decided to take mum and dad out for the afternoon. We got fish and chips and had it in our Memorial Square under the elm trees! It was a lovely afternoon and mum and dad enjoyed getting out! The kids got to muck around together, and breather some fresh air! lol!

When dad got a bit weary we went back to Mercy place and sat in the family area and had dessert! Lovely fruit salad, sponge, chocolate strawberries and home made choccies! πŸ™‚ Yep, felt like Xmas day all over again and I didn’t have much dinner tonite! Dad was well and truly ready forΒ  a good siesta! πŸ™‚

“December Challenge!”

I have left my run a bit late with doing the December Challenge over at http://www.orangepaperieandco.blogspot.com.au/

I felt like have a scrap this avo as the boys are amusing themselves with their ‘new toys!’, and Belinda’s challenge to use non traditional Xmas colors was just what I needed to get the mojo happening! πŸ™‚ You also had to use this sketch created by Annette which I converted to my smaller size! πŸ™‚

sketchΒ Β Β  And this is my take on it and if you click on image it will up-size for you! πŸ™‚

This was a good challenge as I am a very traditional Xmas colour girl! lol!! No green or red what to do!!!

I used mainly Stampin’ Up! products on my layout. I stamped the background using a small acrylic block for the distressed, grungy look, some machine stitching, added images from the new Joyous Celebration clear stamp set with the ink colours Calypso Coral and Midnight Muse!! I used some retired Designer Series Paper called Hounds tooth. These pics were of Cody and dad about 10 years ago! The boys always went around to papa’s to get the Reindeer Food, (carrots) to leave out for Rudolph!!

Thanks for the challenge girls!! I really enjoyed getting these photos scraped! πŸ™‚

“Xmas Spirit!”

As you know I have been really busy and have just lost my Xmas mojo. I have usually made cards and have them sent off by now, the tree up and the house feeling festive! Not at the moment!! My boys are grown up now and they don’t mind if I haven’t done the decorations but I do like to have the tree up and cards done! 😦

So instead of pulling everything out and packing it up again, which I really don’t feel in the mood for, I created this center piece for our kitchen table today after finishing off the work we did! πŸ™‚

016I used some candles and sat them on shallow bowls, added a decoration, and some baubles and tinsel and my little trees! I think it looks nice and festive! πŸ™‚ I have got some of the food shopping done and am doing the pressie shop with the boys next week! Hope you are all get organised too!!

“A Xmas Swap!”

We have done some fun embellishment swaps this year over at Home and Scraped and couldn’t resist joining in the Xmas one! We make three different embellies and 8 of each one!

Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β  For this one I used my punches and made these cute Santa faces! πŸ™‚

Β Β Β Β  These cute Medallions I made with some punches, stamps and pattern papers!

Sorry this pic is a little fuzzy!! These are the pinwheels I showed my sis how to make! Used some different Xmas pattern papers!!!

These were fun to make and I have posted them off and looking forward to what the other girls come up with! πŸ™‚

“Happy October!”

Isn’t the year zooming by, I am trying not to think about Xmas but I have a Xmas card class and a scrap class coming up very soon!! πŸ™‚

I am being a night owl tonite and catching up on my blog and posting my new DT challenge early!Β  We went around and saw mum and dad as my boys were wanting to see Gran and Pa and I got busy and made some cup cakes for avo tea. They did go down well.Β  I also had time this afternoon catching up with my friend after I dropped the boys home! Cody had yesterday off work so we had a movie night and caught up with a couple of movies we all wanted to see!!

I can now reveal my DT challenge for Home and scrapped for October which is also Stop 2 – Asia of The Amazing Race that I have been wanting to share with you! πŸ™‚

For my Asia stop I chose Russia and the Criteria for this layout was to use a Large Title, something horizontal and something found in a park or garden! The challenges for the race are so much fun and stay tuned for the 2nd Detour on our way! πŸ™‚

I thought the chevron craze is really big at the moment and thought it would be a great challenge for the girls this month at Home and Scraped! So if you would like to have a go at my challenge and be in the draw for a RAK from me hop on over and join in the fun! πŸ™‚ I am really enjoyed my time as a DT with Josie and Vicki and I thank Heather for having me! πŸ™‚ One more month to go!! πŸ™‚
