“Heat Embossing!”

I seem to be creating more Stampin Up projects at the moment as I have another class on Tuesday showing some ladies how to heat emboss! I love our new 2012/2014 In Colours and I have used them to create these cards! I am not big on heat embossing but thought I had better have a refresher course!!

These cards I stamped with the Pappillion Potpourri stamp set with Versamark then used the white emboss powder! The card stock is Cake Crumb and Midnight Muse with the matching ink!

I love the gorgeous butterflies in this set and they look great embossed!

For this one I used Summer Star Fruit and Raspberry Ripple Cardstock and inks , with the matching ink and Betsy’s Blossoms stamp set! The large blossom looks gorgeous heat embossed!!

If you like these cards and would like to learn this technique just let me know and you can have your own class!!

“Make Your Own Mists!”

You all would have seen the lovely glimmers and mists that you can buy to use for masking and adding depth to your layouts and cards! I use them all the time and they do get expensive!

So I thought I would share my secret…….

Our Classic Stampin’ Ink Refills can do more than just top up your Classic Ink Pads they are fantastic to make your own mists. I have been making my own now for awhile. They are inexpensive to make, and in the colours you want!

All you need are some smallish spritzer bottles that you may have at home or you can now buy them from SU. They are in our new 2012/13 catalogue on page 179 and you get two for $4.95( 126185),and the Ink Refills that I use also are SU and on page 152! They are also $4.95.   The colours are endless!

All you do is add a few drops of your favourite Classic Ink Refill colour to the spritzer add some water and hey presto a mist!! I also add a bit of Shimmer Paint which is on page 158 of our catalogue to give it a bit of bling! 🙂

I have used Wild Wasabi ((109020), Pacific Point (111840), Chocolate Chip (101065) and Rich Razzelberry (115664) as these colours I use a lot! Now to get the new In Colours as they are gorgeous!!

I hope you mite want to give this a go and make and endless supply of mists for yourself and save a few dollars too!!

“September DT Challenge!”

I can finally reveal my layout and challenge to you for September over at Home & Scrapped!!  A bit of an ‘arty’ challenge for you this month, so get the paint out and have some fun!!

This is the quote I chose for the inspiration for my challenge!!

I really had fun creating this layout of my son JJ and his cousins Hayden! They were both born in June and they are great mates!

I used lots of paint to mask with, ink, tissue paper, misting, mesh tape, embellies and some washi tape!! It was a lot of messy fun!! Most of this layout was created by using bits and pieces out of my stash!! 🙂

Hop on over to http://homeandscrapped.ning.com/ join the forum and have a go at our great challenges happening over there this month!!

“Project 365 Update!”

I haven’t been around much, as been pretty busy with life! Things seem to always get in the way of me catching up in blog land!

I am way behind with my Project 365 which is a bit annoying but can’t be helped! I have been playing with my new Nikon camera my boys bought me for my birthday and I am still taking lots of pics! I am scraping pages that are going into the album but I wanted a quicker way to put something together!

I was searching through some stuff the other day and came across a pack of Jumbo Playing Cards. Of course I have decided to make a mini album from them! This is what I have come up with!

The cards are a good size for wallet sized photos and I just covered them with some of my Stampin’ Up! designer Series Papers.

I used my Zutter to distress the edges, and while doing this our poor dog hid up in the bedroom! It is a tad noisy, but it so quick and fabulous!

I am doing a 52 Week mini of the highlights of our weeks in 2012! Much more manageable for me at the moment! I am mainly doing it with SU products a few other bits thrown in! 🙂

“May DT Challenge!”

May already and I do not know where the year is going!!  A busy month with mother’s Day, my birthday thrown in and I have 3 Workshops as well!!! 🙂

A new month means a whole new lot of challenges from our DT at http://www.challengeheaven.ning.com   The girls have out done themselves again!

When I was pondering mine I was looking at my stash of scraps that I never seem to use and I thought ok I am going to base my challenge on that! 🙂  So  my challenge for you this month is to create a layout using scraps of pp and cut them into strips! Then create a border like I have done or a background!!

These are some photos of Pam and I went we went to the flower show in Melbourne!  I cut the strips and used my SU eyelet border punch on them. Then I layered them up the side added my pics and embellished with some flowers I made!!

Would love you to have a go at my challenge and if you enter you may win the $10 Voucher from Scrapaddix!!!  Your layouts needs to be in the gallery at Challenge Heaven by 5pm, 31/5 to be in the draw!!!

Have fun!!!

Some Swaps, Sweets, Candles And A Layout!!

Hi everyone, been a smidge busy this last week or so and have neglected you all! So sorry! 🙂

In between getting organised for a workshop for this week, Cody’s 20th Birthday and everything else I have managed a bit of craft!!

I have a workshop on Wednesday so I made some Party Favours for the lovely hostess and her guests and also some stamped candles for door Prizes and a Thank-you from me.

I stamped the For You Flower and made these little treats for my Hostess and her guests!

I thought I would have a go at Stamping on candles and made these for Judy my hostess and 3 smaller ones for door prizes! I will be doing a tutorial for these later in the week!

The girls want to learn how to water -colour stamped images so this is the example layout I created for them to use a s inspiration for the workshop! All the embellies are stamped and coloured and the girls will get to use some of the new and very gorgeous Attic Boutique DSP that is out in the new Autumn Mini!!

Somewhere in the middle of all this I was inspired to use Sketch #5 of my 28 Days of Sketches to create this layout of dad on his 97th Birthday!

And finally, these cute little critters I made for our Monthly Swap group over at Home and Scrapped!!! All SU; chipboard owls that I covered with DSP, punch art owls in the middle and little stamped and coloured birds!! Hope they like them!! 🙂
