“Mum’s Canvas”

As you know if you read my blog, I am flat out with my Age Care course and not having much time to play in my scrap space 😦  I am enjoying the course and finished Module 5 Assessment 🙂

I have had the flu this week and not feeling that great, also my Aunty passed away and I was unable to take mum to her funeral 😦  I was feeling a bit better today and I was itching to do something crafty. I had some photos of my mums family and I wanted to put them onto a canvas for her to brighten up her room and hopefully cheer her up 🙂

The canvas I decided on was quite large and I wanted to have a few photos on it! I decided on the four that looked the best and off I went 🙂  I painted it all over roughly with some Kaiser blue pain then I had fun adding some layers and texture with some stamps and texture paste. I had fun using a Kaiser mask, crafters workshop template, and some bubble wrap to get some depth 🙂 I used some Tim Holtz chipboard, D-Lish flowers and bits and bobs from my stash as well 🙂

004        I used these family photos, taken at a family gathering a few weeks ago. As mum doesn’t remember she has photo albums in her wardrobe, I thought this would brighten her room up and she can see it everyday 🙂

005The flower cluster is gorgeous flowers from http://d-lishscraps.openstores.com.au/  I buy white ones and then I just colour them with Distress Stain and Glimmer mist to match my project 🙂 The Tim Holtz chippy and the leaves I bought from a couple of lovely sellers at the Aussie Scrap Garage Group of FB 🙂

I am hoping to do a bit more scrapping will see what happens 🙂

“Sun Loving”

I haven’t done as much scraping for our CC as I was hoping to do! It was so hot over the weekend and too sticky to sit at my desk.  😦  It has been a lot cooler here the last couple of days and today I wanted to have a go Liz’s CC challenge!

002-001I decided on another double page as I had some lovely photos of my roses in bloom and wanted to use them as 4×6 size. 🙂 For the challenge you had to make a sun, use a two-word title and only use three flowers! 🙂 I made the sun by making a washi flower and adding some ribbon at the back, my title is ‘Sun Loving’ and the three flowers are a paper rose and two resin roses on the small doily next the banner 🙂 I wanted it to have summer feel to it so used white card stock misted and some embellies! I didn’t use any pp and I made a washi banner!

004                                   This is a close up of my flower embellishment!

I hope you have all enjoyed playing along with our CC this weekend and hope you got some scraping done too! 🙂

“Pure Joy!”

Yep, it was just that for mum and us on her 75th Birthday! After we went out for lunch and came back to mum and dads for dessert. I made a choc ripple cake and decorated it for her and put a candle on it! Of course she grumbled, but the look on her face in this photo said it all! 🙂 She had a good old laugh trying to blow the candle out and it was funny!!

009-001I created this page using Heather’s sketch from our Month Of creativity Challenge 3 🙂 I wanted it to look feminine for this photo and used some retired Delicate doilies dsp behind the photo on my watercolor background that I did using glimmer mist. I had a lovely tag from Heather that she sent me from a swap last yr and I just continued some more flowers around the corner of the photo! 🙂 I added some little bits of pearl, a couple of Resin birds from Lisa Kamphuis, a flower I made, and the title from Bliss Thickers 🙂

009-002You can see I also added another couple of Heather’s gorgeous flowers that I had in my stash! 🙂

Pop on over and become a member, you will love being @ Home! Also we have a monthly CC coming up from Friday starting with a Step by Step, then Sat a Blog Hop and a fun game of Bingo, and lots of great challenges to get you scraping over the weekend! Pop back Sat for a look at my leg on the Blog Hop!! 🙂

“Fan Fair!”

I had these photos from the day we went to Melbourne last March with my niece and her friends for her birthday! Thought I might like to use one of our new DSP from the 2013/14 Catalogue called Fan Fair to scrap them! I don’t think I will ever get to Paris so Melbourne will have to do! 🙂

005-001This was a fun one to create, and I used some lovely flowers from my stash made by the lovely Heather Waldron and Christine Wormald! 🙂

009-001                                                          Bit of a closie of the flowers!

Scrap storage Idea!

Hi everyone,

Been a while I know, have finally got mum and dad both into age care assisted living here in Colac and they are settling quite well! Trying to get their house done has been a big task and it woke me up about hoarding and clutter! Not that I hoard but it doesn’t take much to feel out of control! Thus we have been doing a de-clutter too and it makes you feel better!! We have done the shed, kitchen, lounge room, bathroom and the boy’s room! Still a little way to go but by the end of next week we well be there!

I have even de-cluttered my scrap space!! I was cleaning out the bathroom and found a beauty case that hasn’t been used and thought it would make a great place for all my flowers to live!

013It is a good size and fits nicely on my shelf and has an extra compartment where I put all my mainly white ones in! It zippers up and the dust is off them! : ) It was too good to throw out and up cycling was a better idea!

“Revolving Desk Caddy!”

I haven’t done any OTP for so long! When I went shopping on Saturday I bought this desk caddy, as I am sick of the clutter and all the little baskets of stuff taking up my work space! I also bought the Large Desk Organizer and I have just started on that one!!

I painted the edges with some Antique White, and the base with a soft green paint then covered it with some papers from the lovely Precious Moments 12×12 paper stack that I have had for a while and done nothing with! 🙂 It is lovely and feminine and sort of ‘shabby chic!”

I have this in the corner and it is perfect for all my scrap stuff I need handy! Both sides there is two drawers and the side bit for scissors and rulers etc! Thus when it revolves I can get to everything with ease!  I didn’t want it too decorated and only did a couple of flowers and Twiddleybitz scrolls and butterflies on both sides and a touch of bling!!
