This layout was fun to create! It was our Build A Page #4 over at Home and Scrapped! The girls did a great job getting their steps up on time and getting them completed!
I used this photo of me to tell a bit of the story behind my Nickname! I am Sam! Our childhood kitten we had was supposed to be called ‘Sam’ and dad decided ‘Mr Puss’ suited him better so he nicknamed me Sam and Alison Goldilocks! don’t ask me how he came up with that one!? I think it was her hair colour? lol; and they stuck to this day he calls us by them!
These are a few photos from my weekend away! a big bunch of roses I took up to her, the great mess we made scrapping, us scrapping in our pj’s ( a great look!) LOL!, and a few cards we got made! the reindeer card is one Ali made at her Kaszazz Workshop! they look very cool!
Went up to my little sister Alison’s place in Ballarat this weekend! Need a bit of an escape!
Been very busy with looking after mum and dad and JJ with Glandular fever etc and just needed a ‘mini break!’
I left Friday morning and got up there about 10 am and as Alison had the day off work and we had a great ‘catch up! We went up the street and had a ‘little shop’ as u do! She is crocheting a shawl at the moment for a friends new bub and I got sucked in and got some wool to crochet a lovely throw rug in a the gorgeous shell pattern she is using! very relaxing just sitting and talking and crocheting! LOL!
After a late night friday night we were up and about at 8am. I got a lovely night’s sleep with no cat meowing or pups barking! We got stuck into making some xmas cards and Ali showed me a Kaszazz project that I made to have at my Xmas Workshop on the 12/12! Lots of fun and I think the girls will enjoy it!
We had another late night and bed at about 12.30am! I helped Ali work out her new blog for her Kaszazz Business, sorted out. Her blog is http://www.alisonsscraproom.wordpress.com
It is under construction at the moment, but it wont take her long to get it up and running! We also sorted out what we are doing for our family xmas get together and then had some lunch and a another little shopping trip before I went home ‘mid afternoon!’
I had a nice break and now its back to ‘reality’!
The last couple of weeks has been wonderful receiving all my ‘happy mail” Just had to share with you all these lovely ATC Swaps I have been involved with! Below is our Recycled Postage Stamp swap’ organised by the lovely Sarah Pannell at Born 2 Create, then there is our 12 Days of Xmas swap orgainsed by Kirsty Jeffreys, our Alice In Wonderland swap organised by Lisa Lee and last but not least our Waiting for Santa Swap from Abunantias Gold!
I am currently working on my ATC’s for the Time Flies Swap at Abunantias Gold and then a break I think till the New Year!
I am soo looking forward to a new year of swapping with the girls, lots of fun and building up my collection!
These are the tops of the Calenders that my workshop group produced yesterday! Lots of different ideas and I’m sure they will love them hanging up and using them! I have mine up already and am very happy with it!
They can either be hung on the wall or they will stand upright on a desk!
These are my few books and Magazines I have bought over the last couple of months! I love scrapbook mags and books that teach you something new! With the AU $ nice and strong I bought these as they are very expensive here. I purchased most of them from either Amazon or Creating Keepsakes and they are exceptional!
I have skimmed over the 3 scrap mags, and I am reading from cover to cover; ( i know me reading!) “Clean and Simple Scrapbooks by Cathy Zielske. She is the creative Editor of Simple Scrapbooks Magazine!
I am enjoying this book as it is making me see that my photos are the most important thing on my scrapbook page; not the ribbon, or embellishments etc! She scraps in a minimalistic style with lots of cardstock and journalling!Cathy shows you how to design your pages, use white space, and journaling. I’m only half way through! She makes you see the bigger picture of the stories and the memories which is why I scrapbook!
I think I will try to get back to the basics a bit more, and tell more of my story! I am really enjoying her book, and I have another couple to read also which will keep me out of mischief for a while I think………
This layout I finished off today so I could clean up my messy scrap desk, and find everything I need for tomorrows workshop! lol!
This layout is about the 59 years of friendship my mum and her best friend Helen have shared!
I used some material and made a ruffle, masked some flowers and a doily with some paint, inked a couple of chippy pieces and used a bit of bling on the flowers and photo corners! I also used a nice quote that I found instead of a title! “A friend is a single soul in two bodies!
I am sure mum will like it when I show her, and she will relive some of those funny things they used to get up to when they were younger! hehe!
