“Scrapbook Savvy Blind Scrap”

This weekend is Scrapbook Savvy’s Cyber Crop and to start the weekend Sara hosts a Blind Scrap on their FB page πŸ™‚Β It was heaps on fun and of course doing it Blind with no photos along the way it is interesting to see how everyone interprets the instructions πŸ™‚

This is my layout I created last nite using Sar’s great instructions and I hope it looks something like hers πŸ™‚

002I used my Basic Grey ‘Clippings’ kit for this layout! I am very happy with the layout I made and was fun to scrap πŸ™‚

Today,

here in Australia and New Zealand it is Anzac Day. We have dawn services all over our country to remember all the brave soldiers that fought and died to keep us all safe πŸ™‚ Lots of us have traveled all the way to Gallipoli also to pay their respects to our fallen. We still have soldiers in Afghanistan, one of which is a friend of mine and I hope he is home safe and sound to his wife and family very soon. πŸ™‚

LEST WE FORGET………

“Cousins are….”

As I got three loads of washing done and on the line and the boys were away for the day, I decided to use up the scraps from the canvas and create this layout!

009These pics of my cousins and I are great to have and scrap! John, Anthea, Loris and Marilyn were always there for Alison and I growing up. Sadly, Gary our closest cousin was taken way to soon. 😦 They always had time for us when we stayed with them and when we visited. Even though we don’t see a lot of each other we are still close. It was a great part of our childhood and we are still great friends πŸ™‚

“Mum’s Canvas”

As you know if you read my blog, I am flat out with my Age Care course and not having much time to play in my scrap space 😦  I am enjoying the course and finished Module 5 Assessment πŸ™‚

I have had the flu this week and not feeling that great, also my Aunty passed away and I was unable to take mum to her funeral 😦  I was feeling a bit better today and I was itching to do something crafty. I had some photos of my mums family and I wanted to put them onto a canvas for her to brighten up her room and hopefully cheer her up πŸ™‚

The canvas I decided on was quite large and I wanted to have a few photos on it! I decided on the four that looked the best and off I went πŸ™‚Β  I painted it all over roughly with some Kaiser blue pain then I had fun adding some layers and texture with some stamps and texture paste. I had fun using a Kaiser mask, crafters workshop template, and some bubble wrap to get some depth πŸ™‚ I used some Tim Holtz chipboard, D-Lish flowers and bits and bobs from my stash as well πŸ™‚

004Β Β Β Β Β Β Β  I used these family photos, taken at a family gathering a few weeks ago. As mum doesn’t remember she has photo albums in her wardrobe, I thought this would brighten her room up and she can see it everyday πŸ™‚

005The flower cluster is gorgeous flowers from http://d-lishscraps.openstores.com.au/Β  I buy white ones and then I just colour them with Distress Stain and Glimmer mist to match my project πŸ™‚ The Tim Holtz chippy and the leaves I bought from a couple of lovely sellers at the Aussie Scrap Garage Group of FB πŸ™‚

I am hoping to do a bit more scrapping will see what happens πŸ™‚

“Punch Storage”

I have been looking for storage ideas for my punches and I don’t want to buy anything, just reuse something! Mine have been in drawers, I can’t see them and hard to get too. So the solution came to me this avo, while pondering writing up my next module πŸ™‚ I store my masks, clear stamps, chipboard, alphas etc in some clear shoe boxes I got in Ballarat awhile ago! I changed it around a bit and had 4 spares πŸ™‚

006

These two have my Stampin Up punches that I can’t part with and my Martha Stewart ones πŸ™‚

007These two have a bit of a mixture!Β  My smaller ones up the top and some larger Kaszazz and Carl Craft ones on the bottom πŸ™‚

These are now happily under my desk, I can see what I have and are easy to get to and use πŸ™‚

I would love to know some of your storage ideas, just leave me a comment πŸ™‚

“Busy, Busy!”

So much to do, so little time……….

That is how I am feeling at the moment, not enough hours in the day. Not that I mind but want to get a few things done. Nice to be back to normal time now, but do miss my late evening garden time lol!

I am really busy with my course and have had a fair bit of ‘homework’ to do! We do a module every week πŸ™‚ I am really enjoying it and it is very interesting. Met some lovely people too! πŸ™‚ I have also put my resume’ in for a job, will see what happens πŸ™‚

I haven’t had time to scrap, as my de-stash sale has been going great and have got rid of a lot of stuff. So glad it is going to new homes who will use it πŸ™‚ I will finally have my desk back and hope to scrap sometime this weekend πŸ™‚

Cody is turning ’21’ on Saturday and we are having a family lunch at the Austral Hotel on Sunday which will be a nice celebration for him πŸ™‚ I have been busily organizing presents and cake for the day πŸ™‚Β  He is my wonderful, strong, gorgeous son. Being so small when born to now, he has come a long way. I am so proud of him πŸ™‚

Mother’s Day is fast approaching in May too and I want to start a canvas with some family photos on it that I took at my aunty and uncles wedding anniversary πŸ™‚ Will put it on the wall for mum in her room and will hopefully cheer her up πŸ™‚ She forgets she has albums in her wardrobe, so she will be able to see these ones πŸ™‚

I hope to catch up with my OLW challenges and as part of my journey I had this bracelet made by Kristi Brandis at http://www.stampedon.com.au/Β Β  She made it to how I wanted it and I am so happy with it πŸ™‚

008Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β  So, with all this going on it’s no wonder my blog is a bit neglected 😦

Hope to blog a bit more next week and maybe even have something creative to share with you πŸ™‚
