“Detour 1!”

This is the second challenge of The Amazing Race and I am really enjoying it! This is a Detour before we take our first flight. This is where we had to detour to the post office and send a letter to our loved ones.

For this challenge you could do a layout or make a set of cards and the criteria for them is:ย  Scrap a layout or 3 card set with either a postage stamp, envelope or some hidden journaling to get your letter sent to your loved ones and get you back in the race.

I thought I would do a set of cards as I am a little low on them! I used the Pretty Postage set from SU and some matching colours and an emboss folder through my Big Shot! I stamped the images and made them look like faux stamps!

“The Amazing Race!”

Over at http://scrapbookingtop50.forumotion.net/ they have an amazing challenge at the moment! A race around the world but not leaving your scrap desk!!!

So pack your bags and grab your passport and get over there an join in!!!

Our first Stop is Sunny Sydney Australia!

I used some retired SU products and papers for this one!

The Criteria to include on your layout for this stop is:
1. Use Aussie slang on your layout (You might find some ideas here: http://www.koalanet.com.au/australian-slang.html/)
2. Include an Aussie Image (eg, flag, map, etc.) or an Aussie Animal
3. Use a border punch or scallops – to represent the large iconic structures (opera house, uluru, rugged coastlines)

This is a photo of my niece and her friends on the train coming home from our day in Melbourne for her birthday in March!

I used the slang – “Big Smoke” for the city

Aussie Flag – I used the bottle cap from my kit and

Border Punch- I used scollops and faux ric- rac

This was a lot of fun and can’t wait to see which country our next stop over is!!!!

“Tags and a Layout!”

I joined in a tag swap over at Home and Scrapped with the girls! thought I would try out doing some arty ones and quite happy with the results!

To create the background I used my non-stick craft mat and swiped with some SU ink then misted with some water. I then swiped the shipping tags through it! I dried it with my heat gun and then sprayed a couple of Glimmer mists and did the same process.

I then used my texture paste and a template to add some texture with he butterfly. That gives a cool raised look!!ย  When that dried I just did some stamp layering! To finish off I add the lace and a couple of stamped and fussy cut butterflies!

This layout of Cody I created last nite for the monthly Step By Step over at Home and Scrapped!ย  I used some different colours for me and when I was mucking around making the tags I did the background!!

He is loving life atm with his Motorbike, hanging with his friends and just doing guy stuff! It is so great to see!! This is a closie of the banner I made! Used some cogs I cut out with my Big shot and some twine and circle accents!

Trying to do something different for boy pages is hard sometimes when you are always scrapping them! lol!!
