“Mid Week Sketch # 3!”

I have been have a great weekend scraping away! Making the most of it before my study ticks around and it all comes to a halt! πŸ™‚

It was nice and quiet here this arvo with big son at work and little son amusing himself as he does! πŸ™‚

Heather is back from her holiday and she has another sketch up for us! πŸ™‚Β  I am planning on doing all Heather’s sketches this yr! πŸ™‚

008-001This was a fun one, with a bit of layering, and stamping. I used some of the free pp with this months issue of Australian Scrapbook Ideas. They are very cute and thought they suited my cute pup photos! lol! πŸ™‚ Our pups chewed there first baskets to bits and we never really worried about getting them new ones! As Willo sleeps on my bed at my feet, and I prob don’t sleep well knowing she is there. I decided to get her on the floor next to me. I bought them both a new soft bed and she loves it! She goes to her bed and snuggles in for the night and I don’t hear her, except when she snores! πŸ™‚ That is why she is Miss spoilt!!!!

“Mid Week Sketch #2”

I finished one layout and decided to scrap these two pics of Cody and Willo!Β  I thought I would use Heather’s second sketch for 2013 over at her sketch blog here; http://scrapysketches.blogspot.com.au/2013/01/mid-week-sketch-02-13.html

I slightly altered the design to incorporate my portrait photos.Β  That is what a sketch is for to put your style and ideas to it! It is a base to get you started!!

010-001I am really pleased, with the Cake Crumb card stock I used with some retired Frightful Sight DSP, a smidge of washi tape, inking with Midnight Muse Classic Ink, stamping and the scallop banner with a few embellies!!

I love using sketches, give them a go you might be surprised!! πŸ™‚

“Do You Journal?”

I must admit I have been lacking in the journaling part of my scrap booking, but that is changing! πŸ™‚ I think I have realized I like telling a bit more of the story on my layouts and doing ”one little word’ has really helped me see its importance!

I am journaling everyday this yr as a challenge to myself and so I have more of our stories written down!Β  I couldn’t find a bought journal that I really liked so I decided to make my own and use some things out of my stash! πŸ™‚

I was going to alter a book, but would have been too bulky so instead I pulled all the pages out and up cycled it! πŸ™‚

IMG_1171-001Β Β Β  This is the book I attacked! πŸ™‚ I ended up taking the spine out also to make it easier to bind.

IMG_1177-001This is the finished front cover! I sanded it first then added the title, stamped and masked with gesso, and the butterflies with paint! Finished off with a bit of washi which u will see though out my journal! πŸ™‚

IMG_1190-001I used different pattern papers from my stash with index cards, tags and postcards to journal on and I will add some photos here and there!

IMG_1200Β  These are just a few pages that I have slightly decorated with stamps and washi! πŸ™‚ It isn’t too big that it wont fit in my bag if I go anywhere and can jot down things if I want too! Why don’t you have a go at making your own! πŸ™‚ I am getting into the habit of sitting down in the evening and writing in my days events, good or bad whatever goes on! πŸ™‚

“So Close!”

Having a very busy time atm with my parents going into care, and mum has a place in our local age care facility ‘Mercy Place’ on Friday. I am flat-out get her things organised to take in and everything else happening this week! Dad will go in shortly after! It is hard putting your parents into care but will be the best thing for both of them as they are no longer coping at home and mum’s Dementia has got worse and very hard for Dad and I to cope with her mood swings!

I felt like a scrap the other nite and decided to have a go at Josie’s challenge over at Home and Scraped!Β  Nice and rustic with distressing the inking etc so had fun, and goood therapy! πŸ™‚

A couple of close-ups of Sam and Willo!!! All SU, bit of doodling, stamping, layering and a couple of pin wheels embellies!

“LOAD Challenge- Day 4!”

I am really enjoying this challenge and making these cards! I think I forgot how much fun they are too make and maybe I needed a break from my scrap booking!

I had fun today creating this from some of my stash that I have!

I used a Cherry Cobbler card base and the lovely new Gumball Green embossed with the chevron. I cut a scollop circle from a die in my Big Shot,Β  and stamped one of the Delicate Doilies on it. I then used the sentiment from a retired set and punched a couple of circles and sat them up on dimensionals! I added a bit of the First Editions Specialty paper behind it and added a Vanilla Seam Binding Bow.Β It didn’t take me long to make and I am planning on a few more to send away! πŸ™‚

Stay tuned for tomorrow!
