“Break It Down”

I have joined in at UK Scrapper’s doing Shimelle Lane’s “Break It Down Class” It is 6 weeks of going stage by stage scraping 6 layouts with her and as they are up to week 3 I thought I had better get at least one done ๐Ÿ™‚ The first week is to scrap ‘before and after’ photos! Each day she put a different stage of the layout up and you work along with her. I have really enjoyed making this layout of Trishka and telling a bit of her story.

004I haven’t used any pattern paper on this one which is a change for me and I used two pics that I trimmed down a smidge. I used some stamping and washi tape for my background ๐Ÿ™‚ As you can see she had a bit of anย  operation, but has come out the other side and has settled in well now with the rest of our ‘fur babies’ ๐Ÿ™‚

Stay tuned as I hope to get another layout done some time this week ๐Ÿ™‚

“Time To Scrap “

With getting my course homework done early in the week, I planned to have a scrap on the weekend. Sunday was the day and it was so nice to get into my scrap space and make a mess ๐Ÿ™‚

I had a go at a challenge on one of the FB groups to use paint splatters ๐Ÿ™‚ It was fun to get a bit messy! I did this cute pic of Willo and used some white paint ๐Ÿ™‚

005Most of the products I used on this layout were purchased from some of the fab ladies who sell their products on FB ๐Ÿ™‚ I have got some bargains ๐Ÿ™‚

This next layout I did for Melissa’s Inspiration challenge @ Home and Scrapped ๐Ÿ™‚ You have to choose some bed linen as your inspiration and this is what I chose off Pinterest ๐Ÿ™‚

004Sorry the pic is a funny colour, the light wasn’t great ๐Ÿ˜ฆ the colour of the cs is more like the one on the left ๐Ÿ™‚ I enjoyed doing some layers and using the tape on this layout ๐Ÿ™‚

I used a Kraft background, a brown paper layer, then some paint, stamping and washi for the tape look! ๐Ÿ™‚ If you click on the pic it will enlarge for you ๐Ÿ™‚

“May CC – Blind Scrap”

I look forward to the Blind Scrap every month with the girls from Scrapbook Savvy! Sarah has the best designs for our layouts and always something different!

I had a few photos of Cody over at the lake and with him walking away I took a few pics! I wanted him to know that he can always count on me no matter what ๐Ÿ™‚

004 I titled the layout “I will always have your back”.ย  It was fun using texture paste, washi tape and some pp to create this ๐Ÿ™‚

“Savvy Blind Scrap!”

Over the Easter Break Scrapbook Savvy have been having a Cyber Crop on FB ๐Ÿ™‚ I haven’t scraped since Sarah’s last one in March ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

This is my page and very happy with it following her instructions ๐Ÿ™‚

003Cody and Willow have their ‘down time’ as they do when Cody comes home from work ๐Ÿ™‚ย The paper is Kaisercraft ‘Base Coat’ and the title is Tim Holtz Grunge board inked with distress ink, & washi tape bannerย  ๐Ÿ™‚

“Sun Loving”

I haven’t done as much scraping for our CC as I was hoping to do! It was so hot over the weekend and too sticky to sit at my desk.ย  ๐Ÿ˜ฆย  It has been a lot cooler here the last couple of days and today I wanted to have a go Liz’s CC challenge!

002-001I decided on another double page as I had some lovely photos of my roses in bloom and wanted to use them as 4×6 size. ๐Ÿ™‚ For the challenge you had to make a sun, use a two-word title and only use three flowers! ๐Ÿ™‚ I made the sun by making a washi flower and adding some ribbon at the back, my title is ‘Sun Loving’ and the three flowers are a paper rose and two resin roses on the small doily next the banner ๐Ÿ™‚ I wanted it to have summer feel to it so used white card stock misted and some embellies! I didn’t use any pp and I made a washi banner!

I hope you have all enjoyed playing along with our CC this weekend and hope you got some scraping done too! ๐Ÿ™‚

“Feb Challenge & A Tutorial! “

The end of January, where did it go! Welcome February ๐Ÿ™‚

I am lucky enough this month to be a Guest Designer @ http://homeandscrapped.ning.com/ย ย  I really enjoyed my four months last yr as a DT and getting an extra month is a bonus!ย  My challenge for you is to create a layout using some decorative tape; home-made or bought ๐Ÿ™‚

As you all know by now I am a Washi Tape-aholic! I can’t get enough of the stuff! ๐Ÿ™‚ Even though the rolls of gorgeous tape are not expensive, it is always nice to be able to save a few pennies on scrap supplies! That is why I have done this tutorial for you on how to make your own ‘washi tape’ ๐Ÿ™‚

You don’t need many supplies to make some tape and you probably have them in your stash! ๐Ÿ™‚

Supplies needed!

Masking Tape

Non stick craft mat or baking paper

paint, Stazon ink, mists, stamps, mod podge

acetate sheet or a page protector for storing your tape ๐Ÿ™‚

Step 1.ย  Tear strips of tape off your roll and apply them to your clothes to make them low tack.ย  This is so the tape wont tear your paper or card-stock if you need to lift and re-apply on a layout or card. ๐Ÿ™‚ Then lay several strips of tape across your mat to use ๐Ÿ™‚

Step 2.ย ย There are a few ways I decorated the tape! a) Stamp directly onto it with Stazon as this dries quickly. b) Paint your tape with, or mist then stamp over it.ย  You will need to use a heat gun if you mist and use dye inks. c) Apply Mod Podge over strip and adhere pattern paper! d) Use Crackle paint and watch the crackle appear!ย  e) Apply glue along the strip and add some glitter. f) Stamp with a versamark pad, apply emboss powder and heat ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Just use your imagination! ๐Ÿ™‚

007-001On these pieces I stamped with Black Stazon and adhered a strip of Vintage music sheet! ๐Ÿ™‚

Step 3. Get to it and have fun creating your own tapes to match your projects and enjoy!! ๐Ÿ™‚

As you can see after the strips dried I lifted them from my craft mat and adhered them to the page protector to use on my layout! ๐Ÿ™‚ You can also cut up pieces of toilet roll holder and wrap the tape around to store.

Step 4. When you can stop making this addictive stuff I would love to see what you came up with and see it on your layout! ๐Ÿ™‚

And this is what I came up with ๐Ÿ™‚ I masked the background with a Hexie mask, embossed some pp with a folder and sanded it back, added my photos, made the banner using washi.ย  Using strips of the washi I made, (the black grunge and the blue cogs), I put them at the bottom and top of the photos and made the flowers.

A close up of the flowers I made by punching a circle of card-stock and the adding the tape ruffled around the circle and securing with a brad. ๐Ÿ™‚ Really easy to make as your tape is already tacky and you don’t have to worry about messy glue. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, I hope you feel inspired to have a go at my challenge and have some creative fun!

“Washi Swatch!”

As I am getting a little bit of a ‘stash’ of washi tape I thought that I needed a way to keep track of them, so when I run out I know the name of the design and where I bought it from! ๐Ÿ™‚

I got an idea from Pinterest and it is featured here on this lovely blog: http://www.marcypenner.com/?p=7553

I used shipping tags,ย  as I have a few left over from swaps I thought I would make one!

Didn’t take long to get done and now I just need to add my new ones lol!!!

I think I will be going to hell lol!!ย ย  I am bad!!!!!
