Where has the month gone! It is Cyber Crop time this weekend over at Scrapbook Savvy and last night was Sara’s Blind Scrap!
This is fun following her steps and making a layout! The fun part is you don’t know what it is supposed to look like
until she uploads her example later in the week 🙂 It is great to see how everyone interprets her instructions 🙂
There were some fun steps, but nothing too difficult. A bit of
misting, layering, washi tape, journaling and embellishments and ‘hey presto’ a layout done 🙂
I wanted to scrap this photo of mum and I at Xmas time. I was mucking around trying to take a ‘selfie’ of us on my phone. I used some of my Dylsuions inks on the background, some fabric tape instead of washi and some embellishments from my Basic Grey ‘Plumeria’ collection. This was just a fun day, just hanging out and being with mum. She was enjoying herself! It is hard to believe she has been in care 7 months already!
Why don’t you hop on over to the blog and have ago at Sara’s Blind scrap, and the other great challenges the design team have for you. 🙂 I know I will be doing some more creating today 🙂

We took a few photos of our family home before it was sold in February! Not that we would ever forget where we grew up, but to have them later on for our kids and grand kids etc 🙂 Lots of memories of growing up here, holidays, School, Xmas, Easter, new babies , celebrations and it is good to have these photos done 🙂
I was in a Page Kit Swap with the girls over @ Home and Scraped and it arrived yesterday in the post. It was from the lovely Heather and she inspired me to scrap last night 🙂
I wanted to use six of the 4×6 photos I had and showcase the house and gardens so I didn’t go too overboard with the embellishments.
I created this double with a bit of masking with a Twiddleybitz template and some Vintage Walnut distress ink 🙂 I added the fence and grass from my kit, with the lovely hand-made flowers from Heather and finished off with the title and a bit of journaling in the form of some words from the Tim Holtz ‘Chit Chat’ sticker book I have 🙂 I love how it has turned up and that I think I have given the photos center stage 🙂

I have joined in at UK Scrapper’s doing Shimelle Lane’s “Break It Down Class” It is 6 weeks of going stage by stage scraping 6 layouts with her and as they are up to week 3 I thought I had better get at least one done 🙂 The first week is to scrap ‘before and after’ photos! Each day she put a different stage of the layout up and you work along with her. I have really enjoyed making this layout of Trishka and telling a bit of her story.
I haven’t used any pattern paper on this one which is a change for me and I used two pics that I trimmed down a smidge. I used some stamping and washi tape for my background 🙂 As you can see she had a bit of an operation, but has come out the other side and has settled in well now with the rest of our ‘fur babies’ 🙂
Stay tuned as I hope to get another layout done some time this week 🙂

As most of you know I am doing my Age Care Cert III/HACC certificate at the moment. 🙂 I have about 5 weeks left to go of the theory and then my 100 hours work placement. This course has really made me open my eyes and look at myself. I have found out things that I didn’t expect and that I can deal with more than I have realized 🙂
This is a photo of a few of the lovely people I am doing the Age Care course with 🙂 They have become new friends 🙂
L-R Alfie, Me, Judy, Jess and our Trainer Katrina 🙂
As part of this and as I feel I have come a long way doing this course, I decided to have ago at applying for a Disability Support position back in April. I have no qualifications in this area at the moment, but this is the area that I felt really strongly about and what I want to do after I finished this course.
I decided to go in and inquire about the position and see if it might be worth my while applying for it. I had a great informal talk with the CEO and she asked me to drop my Resume in to her. I got it updated and took it in and never heard anything for about a month. I then received a phone call asking if I was still interested in the position and if I would come in for an interview 🙂
Well, of course 🙂 I got all dressed up to make a good first impression and had the interview which went for an hour and a half. They seemed very interested in the course I am doing and I was able to answer their questions.I was quite proud of my self afterwards as I felt I came across confident. Even if I didn’t get the job, I knew I had done my best 🙂
Going about my daily business and being so busy with my course I sort of forgot about it, but it was in the back of my mind as I hadn’t heard anything. Then last Monday I got a phone call at school to say I was successful and they had a client for me to meet. I was so excited, I was jumping around and was hanging out till Wed afternoon to meet the client and see if I was suitable to work on the Support Team.
I am now starting on Thursday 27th June working the morning shift to get me trained and I am so stoked that I took the initiative and had a go at the job. It will be wonderful to put into use the things I have already learnt and to be on a support team 🙂 I will be able to continue my training and work with other support teams and also go on and eventually do my Cert 4 in Disability.
You just never know if you don’t have a go at things 🙂

My youngest son Jayden turned 16 yesterday and the time has flown by. He is growing up into a wonderful young man and I am so proud of him! He has had his older brother to guide him along the way too, which has helped him mature so much quicker. He is confident, happy, strong, and he is just himself and doesn’t pretend to be someone else 🙂 Like Cody he can be direct to the point, but he has a wicked sense of humor. No idea where he got that from but he just makes me laugh all the time 🙂
We went to Geelong shopping yesterday as he asked if he could have an IPod Touch for his birthday. Yes, the are expensive but we all put in some money and got him one. I know he will look after it, as neither of my boys have ever been destructive with their belongings 🙂 We had a great day and I managed to get some much-needed clothes and I never bought any scrap supplies, as hard as it was lol!!! We ended up home and having dinner of JJ’s choice and a lovely Choc Marble Cheese cake for dessert 🙂 He had a wonderful day and I was only allowed one photo lol!!
It doesn’t really take much to keep him happy. He never asks for much at all and is very content with what he receives 🙂 hope you have had a wonderful 16th Birthday JJ xxx

Yesterday, my sister and I went over to Maryborough to pick up our new scrap storage that Colin Cadd was making us. He has a business called Colcraft and makes the most amazing storage! He custom-made ours to what we wanted and it is wonderful having everything in arms reach and being able to find things, not waste time 🙂
Everything is organised and easy to get to and I know where everything is now 🙂 Colin made mine to house Distress Ink Pads and Ali’s has room for SU ink pads 🙂 The top shelf is my stamps, then left is SU brads and some small stamp sets, followed my MS punches then my SU punches that I use the most 🙂 The third shelf is date stamps and roller stamps, with border punches, my old style SU punches and on the end my paint daubers and a few mists.
The next row is very colorful with my Dylusion sprays, Distress Inks and Glimmer mists. I then have my ink pads, my SU Pens and journaling pens in the little holes with my embossing powders and glitter 🙂 The tea-cup on the left has all metal charms in it, my drawers have all my adhesives, my labeller, scissors, and bits and bobs. On the right my stamp blocks and distress daubers on the bottom 🙂
This 12×12 storage holder has my kits, 6×6 pads, small masks, and some chipboard stored on the top and in the drawers I have smaller chipboard and small packets of embellishment in them 🙂 I have moved my washi stand over and is easy to access too 🙂
If any one is interested in getting their own storage system made just see Colcraft on FB or contact me and I can put you in contact with him 🙂

With getting my course homework done early in the week, I planned to have a scrap on the weekend. Sunday was the day and it was so nice to get into my scrap space and make a mess 🙂
I had a go at a challenge on one of the FB groups to use paint splatters 🙂 It was fun to get a bit messy! I did this cute pic of Willo and used some white paint 🙂
Most of the products I used on this layout were purchased from some of the fab ladies who sell their products on FB 🙂 I have got some bargains 🙂
This next layout I did for Melissa’s Inspiration challenge @ Home and Scrapped 🙂 You have to choose some bed linen as your inspiration and this is what I chose off Pinterest 🙂
I know this is a bit odd but I like the colour texture and the tape 🙂
Sorry the pic is a funny colour, the light wasn’t great 😦 the colour of the cs is more like the one on the left 🙂 I enjoyed doing some layers and using the tape on this layout 🙂
I used a Kraft background, a brown paper layer, then some paint, stamping and washi for the tape look! 🙂 If you click on the pic it will enlarge for you 🙂
