This week I have been involved with the lovely girls at Home and Scraped creating a Build A Page! These are so much fun, taking it in turns to do a step to create one of a kind layout!! I got the last step which was today as I have had a busy week and didn’t want to hold any one up!! The girls came up with some fab steps and this is what I created from them!! If you would like to have a go at it yourself hop on over and join in our fun forum!!
This is a bit of a closeup of the embellishments that I used on my layout! The leaves are Twiddleybitz and the bike is from Scrap mats! I used a Kaisercraft clock transparency and a doily piece from my stash!!
This is a photo of our main street in Colac which is the Princess Highway! This pic was taken in the 1930’s and a friend of mine put it up on Facebook!! I had to show dad as he was about 15 then and he told me all about the shops and what it was like to live here then!!! I am so glad I used this photo on this layout and scraped about our little town!!

I have a new addiction, I know, what’s new! lol Have you seen or used Washi Tape! I have seen it around for a while now but wasn’t sure what it was or what to do with it! Well that has changed and I am a bit addicted! LOL!! It is a Japanese Paper Tape! Like I need another addiction, oh well that is scrap-booking!! I don’t usually keep up with the trends as it is very expensive but this was something I had to try it is so useful and easy to use!!
If you are new to it like me hop on over and check out this great post that tells you all the ins and outs!! http://www.omiyageblogs.ca/2011/11/what-is-washi-tape.html
Now you know what it is and how your use it you wont stop!! I bought some lovely ones for a great price over at Anna’s Craft Cupboard! You can get them any where!! So many colours and cute designs you won’t be able to help yourself!! Be Warned!!!!
This is one side of my jar of Washi! some boy them, measuring tape, blues, cars etc
And this is the other side! Aren’t they cute!! I will be having fun at the scrap retreat I am going to in a couple of weeks playing with them and getting ideas from the other girls!
This is what I have been doing with them!!!!! Now if I can just get Stampin’ Up! to sell them! lol!!
I used Heather’s July Step by Step layout to play with my Washi and create this layout from her instructions!
I was running a tad late for our walk this day and the pups were ready to go!! As they are Winter pics I thought a few bright colours would work ok! I have used the Washi on the background strips instead of pp, on the tag, and the flowers!! It is so great and easy to use and if you put it in the wrong place it just comes off and doesn’t tear your project!!!
A bit of a close up of the flower and the background! 🙂
Hope you have a go at this great product and I would love to see what you use it for!!

I was looking for a sketch to create a layout of Cody’s Motorbike photos! I wanted to do a double layout and use a few photos!
I decided to check out http://scrapysketches.blogspot.com.au/ and see what Heather might have over on her blog of inspiration that I could use! As it happens her new sketch for this week was up and lucky enough too it was a double page one!!
This is Heather’s Week 27 sketch and it is a great one for some landscape 4×6 photos!
I managed to get 4 portrait and one landscape photo on mine! I wanted to tell the story of Cody going out for a ride on this double layouts! I used some pp from Kaiser and I made the transparency border and compass! I used ‘Carpe Diem’ for the title as I think it says it all: “Seize The Day”…..
If you click on the pictures you will get a better look at them! 🙂
This is a close up of the transparencies and the Stampin Up! title I used, sprayed with mist and stamped on! I wanted a masculine feel to the page so with all the pics I didn’t go overboard with embellishing!
Thanks Heather for your wonderful sketch as it got me motivated do scrap these photo’s! Don’t forget to hop on over and check the sketches out! 🙂

Just thought I would pop in with a non scraping post for a change! I am so proud of my son Cody! After leaving his job at Safeway to do an entry course for Bulla and then not get put on it has been a bit rough on him the last 12 months!!
He got a new job at our local Irrewarra Sourdough Bakery in March and he hasn’t looked back!! It has been very exciting and now he has just bought a new motor bike to get around on and to save me some running around and stress! Isn’t he thoughtful! 🙂
He did his ‘L’ plate motorbike course in Geelong over two days and then he decided which bike he wanted and the rest it history!! Today is the first day I haven’t had to take him to or from work and it was a bit of a weird feeling! Not to have some one dependent on you! It is great and will be a lot easier for me for sure! 🙂
This is a fortnight ago on the 6th of July when Cody went down with his dad to pick it up! The first pic I took! It is a 250 CC Aquila! With electric start and fuel injection, or so he tells me!!!
He drove home through Geelong for the first time!! His dad said he did a great job!
He keeps it under cover out of the weather and he even bought a cover to put over it!!
Warmed up and ready to take it for a spin on Saturday!
He did a few laps of our block and then he went for a cruise!! It is Black, burgundy and silver so of course I approve! lol!!!
He has to hold his L plates for 3 months then he can go for his “P” plates! He is intending to do the advanced driving course also before he gets his “P”s!
I know he is sensible and he has all the right protective gear so I am over worrying about him riding on it! It was a bit of a shock at the start but it has definitely grown on me. He is an adult and needs to make his own decisions and path in life!

I managed to get another challenge done for over at Challenge Inc! I really liked Heather’s sketch challenge and thought I would give it ago!
This is the Heather’s sketch that I used as the design for this layout! I used the basic principles of it but used to pics instead of one!
Sketches are a great way to help with the design and balance of your layout!
This layout is another one for my BOM! I used this pic I had of me when I was about 2 1/2, then one of me now!
I still remember the day mum took this pic of me at the playground near where we lived in Sale till my dad died. Then we moved back to Warranmabool to mums family!
I used some Rich Razz Card-stock and some Beau Chateau DSP for this layout! I found a Sizzix die that I hadn’t used and created these flowers in my Big Shot!
This is a bit of a close up of the flowers! I used some felt to add a bit of softness to the layout and made some rolled roses for their centers!!

I am on a bit of a roll at the moment and still got the mojo happening!
I thought I would have a go at one of out DT’s challenges over at http://challengeincorporated.blogspot.com.au/2012/06/beccis-june-challenge.html The challenge is to scrap something from your daily life and used cogs somewhere!! 🙂
I mounted one of the pics on a cog and added some twine to a couple of others!! I used some SU Cake Crumb and masked the Crafter’s Template cogs with some glimmer mist. I used some Kaiser papers and the SU Framelit Dies! I cut out some other cogs using my SU bigshot. It was fun to look back on a younger Cody and capture him helping with the housework! lol!!
Hop on over and check out our great sketch and three challenges up for you to get creating!

It is nice to finally find some mojo and want to create! I have had a great time over the last few days actually having a play and getting some layouts done! I think Heather’s fabulous sketches have helped take the headache out of designing my pages!
I created this one yesterday of some Birthday photo’s of the boys and me! We went to Geelong for the day and they spoilt me! 🙂 This was a bit of a mixture of some SU card stock and pp and some other flowers from my stash that Heather made me!
This sketch caught my eye and it was perfect for these photo below!
As you know I love to sew on my layout and Cody snapped these couple of me one night playing! Of course today when I wanted to use my machine the plug wouldn’t reach so I stamped instead! I used some SU and some other Kasier products from my stash to give this a Home Made feel!
Hop on over to Heather Sketch Blog at http://scrapysketches.blogspot.com.au/
I am sure you will find something to inspire you too!! 🙂
