“Step By Step!”

The last couple of weeks I have been having some fun with the girls over at “The Boxx” forum! Belinda Lowe has had the whip out, lol and we have been creating a layout together!

There were nine of us and we each did two steps each to put our layout together. It was so much fun!

These are the steps if you would like to follow along!

Step 1 Mary Bennett- Now let’s get a little messy and have some fun.

I would like you to use mists on your background. You can use water to make it blend and run. Or you could try Julie Winks Salt and Ink Technique in this months Scrapbook Creations . If you don’t have mists, water down some paint. You could use mists and a mask ~ up to you how you use the misting. Secondly I would like to see some stamping. We are going to get arty here.

Step 2 Cathy Harvey- Use some texture paste is some format. I also added colour to the paste as that was what I wanted to do. the choice is yours, whether to colour or not. Add 2 contrasting PP’s with ripped edges to your LO. Your choice where you want to place it.

Step 3 Kylie – Add something tied in a ribbon or knot (could be ribbon, string, twine, anything really…)  also a frame (any frame – use your imagination or a standard ‘frame’)

Step 4  Belinda Lowe -Add your photo to your LO and Add a small amount of bling

Step 5 Cheryl O’Brien -Add a butterfly and add your title

Step 6 Jo Trinton – Use some kind of metal embellishment e.g. trinket, label holder or make your own and A little or a lot of journalling.

Step 7 Kerri (me) – My two steps are add a bit of doily and a small banner somewhere!

Step 8 Noelene Fairweather– add a button or two and ink the edges of your layout.

A bit of a close up of the butterfly, bow, doily, banner and my bottle cap for the metal embellishment made by Lesley Young! 🙂

Hope you will play along and I would love to see your creations!

My layout is one of the first photos taken of Jayden and I when he was born 15 years ago!! I really enjoyed scraping this girls and thanks for the fun!!

“New SU Goodies!”

So happy, I have received my Stampin’ Up! Happy mail with these wonderful new products in it!! As I am now a Supervisor I received a nice big discount of this lovely lot!!

Why wouldn’t you want to be  demo with this wonderful company!!  Pictured is the gorgeous Betsy’s Blossom Stamp set and matching standard wheel, the 2012/13 In Colour markers , Daffodil Delight Cross-grain ribbon and a lovely packet of Floral District Designer Series Paper!!

Can’t wait to have a play with these yummies! If you would like a new catalogue which is a vailable to order from the 1st of September just let me know!!

“Out Of My Comfort Zone!”

That is how I felt a bit creating this ‘arty’ style layout for Melissa’s Inspiration Challenge over at Home and Scraped!

I created this with some misting, masking, tissue paper, Gesso, stamping and ink! A bit ‘altered art’ or ‘mixed media’ techniques! Not my usual style but I really enjoyed the process of doing this layout for my Book Of Me!

Since I went to the Retreat with the girls, I have enjoyed doing something different on my layouts and getting a bit arty!! I used a couple of different Crafter’s Workshop templates and I used the lovely Framelits Dies from my Stampin Up! stash to make the frame! They are a new addition to our new 2012/2013 Catalogue being released on the 1st of September!! 🙂

Hi All

This last week has not gone to plan at all!  I have had trouble with the roof continually leaking and finally it is going to be properly restored. It has caused water damage in the boy’s room and mine so both ceilings have to be re-placed and the rooms painted! I am so happy it is getting fixed!!! It has been a bug bear and an eye sore!! So this week I am going to be cleaning up and packing the boy’s room up ready for the workmen!

I have had both boys sick this week with Cody of work and now Jayden is crook with the flu! He hasn’t been sick since his bad lot of Glandular Fever in 2010!!

I have had doc appointments for mum and dad this week, and also in the process of signing another lady up to my team with Stampin’ Up!. I just feel like I have accomplished nothing this week!!!!!

I got the roast on for dinner tonite and said ‘stuff it’ to the housework I was going to do and I sat and created this layout for the Cyber Crop over at Home and Scrapped this weekend!

I love this photo I took of the boys a couple of years ago of them in the back yard mucking around! They had such a good time and I think J won the war! lol!

I used a Prima Mistables Background and just added some stitching, pp and the Mistables title too!
This came together pretty quick and I am very happy with it!!

“Tags and a Layout!”

I joined in a tag swap over at Home and Scrapped with the girls! thought I would try out doing some arty ones and quite happy with the results!

To create the background I used my non-stick craft mat and swiped with some SU ink then misted with some water. I then swiped the shipping tags through it! I dried it with my heat gun and then sprayed a couple of Glimmer mists and did the same process.

I then used my texture paste and a template to add some texture with he butterfly. That gives a cool raised look!!  When that dried I just did some stamp layering! To finish off I add the lace and a couple of stamped and fussy cut butterflies!

This layout of Cody I created last nite for the monthly Step By Step over at Home and Scrapped!  I used some different colours for me and when I was mucking around making the tags I did the background!!

He is loving life atm with his Motorbike, hanging with his friends and just doing guy stuff! It is so great to see!! This is a closie of the banner I made! Used some cogs I cut out with my Big shot and some twine and circle accents!

Trying to do something different for boy pages is hard sometimes when you are always scrapping them! lol!!

“Happy Mail!”

It was lovely coming home on Sunday and the postie had delivered some
Happy Mail! Not bills or junk mail for a change! lol Even better when you forget what you ordered lol!!

I received some scrap stuff from The Scrapboxx and my cute handbag I bought from a lovely lady’s shop on Face Book!

It may not be everyone’s cuppa, but I love it! The colours of course the crochet and the beads! It looks fab!

I am really pleased it also is lined and has a zipper for extra security! 🙂

A bit of a ‘closie’ of the flower and the lovely bead work and crochet!

My motto is ‘ A girl can never have too many bags!’ hehe!

P.S. If you click on the pics you will get a better look! 🙂

“A Happy Scrappy Time!”

I had a great time as I said on the weekend and the girls were so inspiring! I would have been happy to get one layout done, but 8 omg! lol!! I thought I took too much stuff, but oh no I really should have taken more! hehe!

Yep, there was only 9 of us but the mess there would have been heaps more! lol

This was the first one I worked on using some Washi Tape and some pics of Willo making herself at home on my bed!! I used some SU card stock and the flowers and hearts were made by Becci Sunberg!

This one is one of Heather’s great sketches! I used SU card stock and wheeled the paw prints. I made the heart free hand and just pleated the Choc Chip satin ribbon around it!! I love these pics of Sam!

This is another of Heather’s sketches! The last of my roses! All SU!

There was a lot of red to deal with in these photos and I wasn’t sure what to do with these pics! I used some washi and some white punched borders! The banner in some blue and some trim!!

These pics of the boys chatting at the Ford Day I had to scrap! So good seeing them talk to each other!! I used SU background and card stock! I used a couple of masks and some washi to make the banner!

This pic is of J  J, Kaitlyn and Adam on the school holidays! They have been friends since prep! I didn’t want it too girls so did some masking misting and stamping!! I made the pinwheel and  lollipops. Eb gave me the cogs, flags and butterfly! 🙂This is me up till all hours in my own little world! lol! I love the peace and quiet!

Had to scrap these pics of a life long family friend of mum’s! Aunty Val is like a second mum to me and I enjoyed doing this one! I had a go at altering the chipppy leaves with some paste and ink! 🙂
