That is how I feel at the moment! Not enough hours in the day!!
Today my bestie Mary Jo and I booked in to scrap for the day together. I had the day off and Mary is on holidays. We had a great time, chatting, scrapping the afternoon away 🙂 I managed two layouts and clever Mary made some gorgeous cards 🙂
This one was fun to do of the boys ‘playing games’ as they do 🙂 I used some Dyluisons ink sprayed onto the white card stock, added some Kaszazz Cogs stamped in Stormy Sky Distress ink and added a banner with some twine and a bit of washi tape, with thickers title.
Both these layouts came together pretty quick for me for a change. I decided to place and stick and just get it done 🙂 This one I used an older photo of Cody on the left and one of this yr on the right of him and Willo 🙂 I used a bit of Dyluisons inks sprayed on the Kraft background with the Kaszazz Chevron Background stamp and I used some texture paste over a chicken wire mask. I added a few embellies, some tape and twine to finish 🙂
It was a great afternoon, with no housework involved 🙂

This week my oldest son Cody has been packing up the last 11 years of his life living with me and JJ here in Martin Street. He has decided it is time to leave the ‘nest’ and get out into the big wide world beyond home. I am a bit mixed about this as it will be odd not having him around, but I am sure his little brother will keep me amused 🙂
He is moving in Monday with the best mate, who he has been friends right through Secondary school 🙂 I know he is ready, and I feel I am now too for him to take this next step and get closer to his career in the Vic Police Force. I am so proud of him 🙂
I took this photo unknown to them last weekend when we visited mum. They have been so close growing up and I know they will miss one another. Although with Cody at work a fair bit of the time and they play games on-line together not much will prob change for them 🙂 I will miss the loud laughter that comes from their bedroom when they are playing games or watching The Umbilical Bros on their tv lol!! 🙂
Cody went up this morning and finalized his bed delivery for Monday and tmorrow we are going to Geelong so he can get some things he needs like linen etc 🙂 Oh yep and some curtains for my new room too as JJ and I are doing a swap 🙂
I am busy with work now also and don’t see as much of him as I used to but our nightly chats when I get home from work will be what I miss the most 😦
I am very thankful for my two wonderful boys, and I promised Cody I wouldn’t text him too much and he is going to come around for dinner during the week when he can and catch up 🙂 We will see lol!
Not much happening with me on the scrap-book front atm, but enjoying my new job and learning heaps 🙂
I just wanted to share with you the gorgeous sunrise I see every morning when I am on an early shift. I live in a lovely part of the world and I never tire of this view on my way to work 🙂
I am loving my new role and it is great learning on the job skills I have read about in class. I am picking things up pretty quick and always something different to do 🙂
I go back to school on the 15/7, then work placement and I will have my qualification 🙂 It has been a great course and I am so glad I decided to go down this path and where it has led me 🙂
I haven’t got as much time as I had to scrap and do things, but it is great feeling useful once again. I am doing a little scraping, but I have also started a crocheted blanket for my bed. It is just squares of double crochet, but enough for my brain lol!!
Two colours so I don’t get bored and will prob do a different coloured edge.It is going to take me awhile but will amuse me on night shift some nights 🙂 It is 8 ply acrylic as I am allergic to wool, but will still be lovely and warm 🙂 The rows are 30 chain but 19 rows as I miscounted hehe! Might get a bit more adventurous with a pattern next time 🙂 I crocheted a shell pattern throw for the lounge awhile ago which was pretty easy but too bulky to take to work 🙂
Better get my shoes on if I am going for a walk, and hope you all have a great week 🙂

Where has the month gone! It is Cyber Crop time this weekend over at Scrapbook Savvy and last night was Sara’s Blind Scrap!
This is fun following her steps and making a layout! The fun part is you don’t know what it is supposed to look like
until she uploads her example later in the week 🙂 It is great to see how everyone interprets her instructions 🙂
There were some fun steps, but nothing too difficult. A bit of
misting, layering, washi tape, journaling and embellishments and ‘hey presto’ a layout done 🙂
I wanted to scrap this photo of mum and I at Xmas time. I was mucking around trying to take a ‘selfie’ of us on my phone. I used some of my Dylsuions inks on the background, some fabric tape instead of washi and some embellishments from my Basic Grey ‘Plumeria’ collection. This was just a fun day, just hanging out and being with mum. She was enjoying herself! It is hard to believe she has been in care 7 months already!
Why don’t you hop on over to the blog and have ago at Sara’s Blind scrap, and the other great challenges the design team have for you. 🙂 I know I will be doing some more creating today 🙂

We took a few photos of our family home before it was sold in February! Not that we would ever forget where we grew up, but to have them later on for our kids and grand kids etc 🙂 Lots of memories of growing up here, holidays, School, Xmas, Easter, new babies , celebrations and it is good to have these photos done 🙂
I was in a Page Kit Swap with the girls over @ Home and Scraped and it arrived yesterday in the post. It was from the lovely Heather and she inspired me to scrap last night 🙂
I wanted to use six of the 4×6 photos I had and showcase the house and gardens so I didn’t go too overboard with the embellishments.
I created this double with a bit of masking with a Twiddleybitz template and some Vintage Walnut distress ink 🙂 I added the fence and grass from my kit, with the lovely hand-made flowers from Heather and finished off with the title and a bit of journaling in the form of some words from the Tim Holtz ‘Chit Chat’ sticker book I have 🙂 I love how it has turned up and that I think I have given the photos center stage 🙂

I have joined in at UK Scrapper’s doing Shimelle Lane’s “Break It Down Class” It is 6 weeks of going stage by stage scraping 6 layouts with her and as they are up to week 3 I thought I had better get at least one done 🙂 The first week is to scrap ‘before and after’ photos! Each day she put a different stage of the layout up and you work along with her. I have really enjoyed making this layout of Trishka and telling a bit of her story.
I haven’t used any pattern paper on this one which is a change for me and I used two pics that I trimmed down a smidge. I used some stamping and washi tape for my background 🙂 As you can see she had a bit of an operation, but has come out the other side and has settled in well now with the rest of our ‘fur babies’ 🙂
Stay tuned as I hope to get another layout done some time this week 🙂

As most of you know I am doing my Age Care Cert III/HACC certificate at the moment. 🙂 I have about 5 weeks left to go of the theory and then my 100 hours work placement. This course has really made me open my eyes and look at myself. I have found out things that I didn’t expect and that I can deal with more than I have realized 🙂
This is a photo of a few of the lovely people I am doing the Age Care course with 🙂 They have become new friends 🙂
L-R Alfie, Me, Judy, Jess and our Trainer Katrina 🙂
As part of this and as I feel I have come a long way doing this course, I decided to have ago at applying for a Disability Support position back in April. I have no qualifications in this area at the moment, but this is the area that I felt really strongly about and what I want to do after I finished this course.
I decided to go in and inquire about the position and see if it might be worth my while applying for it. I had a great informal talk with the CEO and she asked me to drop my Resume in to her. I got it updated and took it in and never heard anything for about a month. I then received a phone call asking if I was still interested in the position and if I would come in for an interview 🙂
Well, of course 🙂 I got all dressed up to make a good first impression and had the interview which went for an hour and a half. They seemed very interested in the course I am doing and I was able to answer their questions.I was quite proud of my self afterwards as I felt I came across confident. Even if I didn’t get the job, I knew I had done my best 🙂
Going about my daily business and being so busy with my course I sort of forgot about it, but it was in the back of my mind as I hadn’t heard anything. Then last Monday I got a phone call at school to say I was successful and they had a client for me to meet. I was so excited, I was jumping around and was hanging out till Wed afternoon to meet the client and see if I was suitable to work on the Support Team.
I am now starting on Thursday 27th June working the morning shift to get me trained and I am so stoked that I took the initiative and had a go at the job. It will be wonderful to put into use the things I have already learnt and to be on a support team 🙂 I will be able to continue my training and work with other support teams and also go on and eventually do my Cert 4 in Disability.
You just never know if you don’t have a go at things 🙂
