I know, I know I haven’t been around much! I hate not having time to keep my blog updated! I do apologise!

As usual keeping busy! Cody is loving his job and of course the money, JJ has been hitting the books and doing a great terms work and me I have been flat-out! Took time out yesterday to catch up with Mary which was great!  I am walking with Pam a couple of nights a week and enjoying it even though the weather is now a little chillier!!

I am really busy with my SU hobby as well! I have just had my sister join my team and I also have another lovely lady joining me this week!! Ali is coming down on Sunday to help start a bit of a clean up at mums and to have a bit of 1 on 1 training!!  I have been busy getting ready for a workshop in a couple of weeks and so much is happening at SU it is really exciting!!

I am really looking forward to having a weekend break at Port Fairy with nine other lovely ladies from down this way the first weekend in August! A scraping and fun-filled weekend with like minded girls is just what the doctor ordered! lol!! I need a mini break!!

I have scraped a couple of layouts and here is what I have created!!

This is a 8.5×11 double layout I made to scrap some of the photos that I took at the two Garden Shows that Pam and I went to in Feb/March! I used all Stampin’ Up products!!

This one I had fun with today as it has definitely been stay in doors weather today here in Vic!!

This is Step By Step Challenge that I did with The Boxx girls!! Also I am pretty happy as I won the May sketch Challenge with my “I Luv To Stamp” Layout!!

This is dad @ 97 still pottering around in the garden!! :) All SU except the cogs emboss folder and I made the fence!!

Well I hope I get back here a bit more often to catch you up on what I have been up to! You can find me on FB and I lurk a bit in a few forums too.  I update my Stampin’ Up! Website also~

Thanks For Looking :) Kerri x

“Project 365 Update!”

Tags

I haven’t been around much, as been pretty busy with life! Things seem to always get in the way of me catching up in blog land!

I am way behind with my Project 365 which is a bit annoying but can’t be helped! I have been playing with my new Nikon camera my boys bought me for my birthday and I am still taking lots of pics! I am scraping pages that are going into the album but I wanted a quicker way to put something together!

I was searching through some stuff the other day and came across a pack of Jumbo Playing Cards. Of course I have decided to make a mini album from them! This is what I have come up with!

The cards are a good size for wallet sized photos and I just covered them with some of my Stampin’ Up! designer Series Papers.

I used my Zutter to distress the edges, and while doing this our poor dog hid up in the bedroom! It is a tad noisy, but it so quick and fabulous!

I am doing a 52 Week mini of the highlights of our weeks in 2012! Much more manageable for me at the moment! I am mainly doing it with SU products a few other bits thrown in! :)

“My Humble Beginings!”

Tags

It seems like forever since I have scraped! Maybe not quite but I needed some time out! Last night the boys were out for dinner so I decided to join Heather and the girls at Home and Scrapped for our Monthly Step By Step!! It is so much fun working on a layout with the girls and catching up with them all! I can’t see them but it is just like being there with them!!

I think my layout title says it all!  These photos I wanted to scrap to show how much things have changed since I started Scraping in 2000. There weren’t any scrap shops around and I started off like many others by having a CM party!! Shortly after that the Scrapbook craze hit Australia and hasn’t stopped!!

I had a small scrap space, no computer and minimal supplies!

Now it is never-ending and I know I have been soo lucky to be able to buy what I have wanted, and now as an SU Demo a whole new wonderful world has opened up to me and yes, I am still adding to my scrap stash! lol!!!

“Some Flowers!”

Tags

I have a Stampin’ Up! workshop on Wednesday and I am going to teach my group of ladies how to create some paper flower embellishments.  We will be using DSP, card-stock and some punches!

These flowers are fairly easy to create and make it budget friendly to add flowers to your pages! I love all the flowers on the market but not the price of them!!

As Stampin’ Up! has such a great range of Designer Series Papers and wonderful punches it’s quite easy!!

I have made some of my Grunge Flowers with the Scallop Punch and some Lollipops withe a Circle Punch! I have also used the Triple Doiley Punch and also made a few Rolled Roses by hand!  The larger ones are made with some strips of DSP grunged up and I made a Folded Flower also known as a Medallion!!

I made these from my scrap stash but the girls will be using our gorgeous Well Worn DSP to create a Heritage Style page! :)

“Book Of Me Album!”

I have been working on the cover for my BOM and I have finished it!! I decided to go a bit arty and use a few altering techniques!

I layered pattern paper, then tissue paper, added a mask and glimmer mist, stamped, distressed, inked, and layered some other pattern papers!! I also used ribbon, lace, doily, flowers etc!!! This pic Pam took of me yesterday and I thought it would be better printed in black and white!!

Well, I am happy with my ‘arty’ effort on my cover and am looking forward now to getting started with Mary’s prompts over at The Boxx and seeing what the other girls come up with! :)

“May DT Challenge!”

Tags

May already and I do not know where the year is going!!  A busy month with mother’s Day, my birthday thrown in and I have 3 Workshops as well!!! :)

A new month means a whole new lot of challenges from our DT at http://www.challengeheaven.ning.com   The girls have out done themselves again!

When I was pondering mine I was looking at my stash of scraps that I never seem to use and I thought ok I am going to base my challenge on that! :)   So  my challenge for you this month is to create a layout using scraps of pp and cut them into strips! Then create a border like I have done or a background!!

These are some photos of Pam and I went we went to the flower show in Melbourne!  I cut the strips and used my SU eyelet border punch on them. Then I layered them up the side added my pics and embellished with some flowers I made!!

Would love you to have a go at my challenge and if you enter you may win the $10 Voucher from Scrapaddix!!!  Your layouts needs to be in the gallery at Challenge Heaven by 5pm, 31/5 to be in the draw!!!

Have fun!!!

“Altered Mini Albums!”

I haven’t been around for a while and I apologise! :) I am having a little break from scraping as I just can’t get motivated!  I am have issues with mum and dad’s care and I am a bit stressed!!  I also have 3 SU Workshops in May which will keep me busy also! :)

I was invited to join Mary Bennett’s About ME Group over at The Boxx and I think it came at the right time!  I need a project to think about it and this is going to be fun!!  I am starting an About Me album so my kids can look back on  in years to come and not wonder what mum was up to or what she liked/ disliked etc! Not that they don’t know me of course! lol!! :) I created one of these about 6 or 7 years ago and a lot has happened since then and changed in my life!

As you know I love making Mini Albums and instead of doing layouts I am altering some plain old Manila Folders and creating my album from these! I was making it from a tutorial on You Tube but it isn’t what I wanted so I have made my own design and I will keep you updated with its progress!!

I wanted to share with you this Paper Bag Album I have been working on for JJ. I have a lot of photos we have taken from car shows and I thought this would be great to keep them in and we can add to it!!

I used some brown paper lunch bags and stuck them together to create pockets! I bound them with some card-stock over the spine!

You can see I have covered the paper bags with pattern papers from my stash and you can see the pockets which I can use for extra photos, journaling or memorabilia! It is starting to look very cool and JJ loves it!!

Below is the start of my Altered About Me Album!  I cut the folders down to 81/2 x 10″ and with the scraps I made some extra pages, flaps and tags!

Sometime this afternoon I will start my front cover, still working out how I want to do it! Pattern paper, ink, paint, etc!

Some Swaps, Sweets, Candles And A Layout!!

Tags

Hi everyone, been a smidge busy this last week or so and have neglected you all! So sorry! :)

In between getting organised for a workshop for this week, Cody’s 20th Birthday and everything else I have managed a bit of craft!!

I have a workshop on Wednesday so I made some Party Favours for the lovely hostess and her guests and also some stamped candles for door Prizes and a Thank-you from me.

I stamped the For You Flower and made these little treats for my Hostess and her guests!

I thought I would have a go at Stamping on candles and made these for Judy my hostess and 3 smaller ones for door prizes! I will be doing a tutorial for these later in the week!

The girls want to learn how to water -colour stamped images so this is the example layout I created for them to use a s inspiration for the workshop! All the embellies are stamped and coloured and the girls will get to use some of the new and very gorgeous Attic Boutique DSP that is out in the new Autumn Mini!!

Somewhere in the middle of all this I was inspired to use Sketch #5 of my 28 Days of Sketches to create this layout of dad on his 97th Birthday!

And finally, these cute little critters I made for our Monthly Swap group over at Home and Scrapped!!! All SU; chipboard owls that I covered with DSP, punch art owls in the middle and little stamped and coloured birds!! Hope they like them!! :)

“28 Days-Sketch #4!”

Tags

,

I am loving this class and the sketches are wonderful. You can make them plain or jazz them up  bit!  This is my version of #4 which was a double 8.5×11 layout and I made it a 12×12 as I had a few bigger photos to use!

I don’t usually scrap these colors but I do have a few purple shirts in these photos! I used some older Kaiser papers and some flowers to match, which I was lucky enough to get from Sarah in a flower swap! I also included an April challenge from Challenge Heaven on it also! Kim’s chall was to use a transparency. I cut up some clear packaging and used that, then I stamped the clock in Black Stazon! it gives you a clear element to your pages!!

These pics are just of things that I do to relax and unwind! You need some down- time “Renew” your body and soul!! Being so busy and a mum we all need it!!

I love scrapping of course, having a coffee out for a change, walking, blog hoping, crochet or sewing, going to a market and my garden!!

What do you do for your ‘me time’?

“Ribbon Challenge!”

Tags

, ,

Over at Home and Scrapped there is a challenge for April created by the lovely Jewels to use some of your ribbon stash! Mine is over flowing like everyone elses, so I thought I would have a go!!  A couple of things you have to do is use a white card-stock base, create a ribbon background and use a pic of yourself and journal a little about what you are up to now!!! Got my thinking cap on and this is what I came up with!!

I had heaps of little bits of ribbons tied to my metal dress form that I store them on and this gave me the idea to tie the bits and create a background!

It took me a while but I am happy with the result . I just added a few scraps around the edge, a recent photo of me and a few bits of info about me!

I titled it “TODAY” and journaled……..

- I love my scraping

- JJ has me hooked on iced coffee

- I am enjoying my walking with my friend

- It is great spending time with my boys!!

Hop on over and have a go at the great challenges the DT have come up with for April!!

TFL :) Kerri x
