“Finally I Can Share!”

I have been hanging out to share this layout with you!! I created it for a DT Challenge for our Cyber Crop at Challenge Heaven which started tonight!!

Oh and by the way I didn’t win the bingo game Grr!! Congrats to Donna! :)

Our theme is “New Beginnings!” and for my challenge you have to create a layout about something you want to achieve in 2012, use at least 2 photos and journal!! So for me it was easy, besides my Nursing to complete my project 365!

This layout sits proudly as my first page of my 365 album!!

My journaling reads…..”This year in 2012 I have a few goals, but the one besides my Nursing is to complete my Project life 365. Scrap-booking a photo a day for a whole year seems like a big task, but I am defiantly up for it! I love taking photos of the ‘little things’ that we may otherwise miss.  I hope to……..

1. Improve my photography skills.

2. Change the way I scrapbook.

3. See ordinary miracles everyday.

4. To improve my journaling and tell more of our story.

5. Get back to the basics and

6. See on a specific day what History we have created!!!

To create this layout I used all Stampin’ Up Products!!

Hop on over and check out all the other great DT challenge we have for you!!

“Why White?”

Are you like me and when you need a blue or pink or neutral colored embellishment you never seem to have one!! Well I had this problem this week and it was very annoying! I have decided to overcome this problem by buying/making my flowers ribbons etc white and then coloring them myself with my inks, paints, chalks Glimmermists etc!! We don’t have a LSS that I can just run down to when I need something!!

I am sure in the long run it will be better for my budget and much easier to scrap!! I started making some more of my “Vintage Ruffle Flowers” at my sisters last weekend and I sat and made a jar full to keep me going for a while!! I made some ruffled and some just lolly pops layered!

I have a tutorial above in my blog header if you would like to make some yourself!! they are so much fun to make and then even more fun to color and use!!

“Project Life Week 3!”

I am really enjoying scraping my 365 photos! I thought I would try something a bit different this week and do a challenge set by Alanna Nelson who is a Guest Designer at Challenge Heaven this month! The challenge is based on the word “NEW”. For ‘N’ you must use Neutral tones, for E use two elements that Alanna used. I used masking and some embellies and for W, the Who What Where and When!! I created this double and am quite happy with my effort!!

I used cake Crumb Card stock, and stamped the background with the gorgeous Triple Treat Flower then punched out a few stamped images with the Fancy Flower Punch!! I masked the title and journaled about each day this week!!

I got some new shoes, sorted out my recipes, puppy paws, Teen stuff, my new space, vegging out and JJ and Nitro’s morning tradition!!!

Hop on over and have a go at her challenge is was fun!!! don’t forget the CC starts at 8pm Melbourne time tomorrow night!! :)

“Scrap Supply Storage Idea!”

As you know from a previous post I did an overhaul of my scrap space! I am having lots of fun creating in it but there was a problem I was trying to figure out! How to have all my supplies close by and organised??

Well, blog hopping I found a post by a clever scraper who has used clear shoe boxes to store her embellishments in!!  Couldn’t go past this one as I knew they would fit neatly on this shelf unit!!  I bought a pack of 10 from Store in Ballarat and then I turned my shelf unit around so I don’t even have to get up to find things!!!

I have my embellishment sorted by color and a bin for masks and stencils, chippy and alphas!! I just used some alpha stamps to make the labels, and I can also see through them!!  I can even fit a few other things I use a lot like my Cuttlebug, Scrap bin, etc!!

I hope this may help you organise your supplies! :)

I am feeling a bit blah at the moment. A lot going on and it’s doing my head in!! I am so looking forward to a few days break with my sister and family over the weekend. The kids want to get together before school goes back. We thought we would meet in Geelong on Sat morn and do some shop then head back over to Ballarat and stay a couple of nights!! Have a bit of a catchup and may be a scrap and the kids can have some ‘cousin’ time together!!!!

Anyway, I felt like having a scrap last night and had a few pics from my shop trip with my friend Pam last week!! I couldn’t resist taking a pic of all the gorgeous pp and flowers in Chandon Craft!!

I used them to do Bek’s Just For Fun Challenge at Challenge Heaven!! You pic a layout of someone who’s work you like and do your own version of it!! I was peeking in my new issue of Aust Scrapbook Ideas and found this cute layout by Pam Thorburn on page 86 an I new I wanted to do this one with all the distressing she used!!

This is her layout, with a very vintage feel to it!!

And this is mine! A little different as I tweaked the layout for my smaller pics!!  I did a lot of distressing and used the Beau Chateau papers from Stampin’ Up!!.  I inked, sewed, distressed, paper rolled, tearing, masking ans stamping on it! I am really happy with it and the journal reads – “It would be a lovely ‘DREAM’ to have an endless supply of pattern papers and flowers! I just’ HEART’ them”

“Week 2 Project 365 – Jan 8th-14th!”

This Week has been a bit busy as they are and I was lucky enough to be able to have a bit of down time as well! A few different things to photograph this week!! I ventured out to the vegie garden, re-arranged my scrap space, had a go at using the ‘macro setting’ on Cody’s camera, had a read, and went shop with a friend!

I am finding this “simple plan” of scrap-booking is harder than I thought!! I think I am going to end up doing some embellishing of some kind!! lol! I used some pp on this layout and distressed the edges!! I just can’t help myself!!

I am really happy with the way the pics and journal are telling our story, but I feel they just lack something!! Maybe I will try some different sketches and ways to set my pages up also!!

Sorry about the flare from the flash, there is plenty of light in the lounge but in the wrong place trying to take a good pic!! I am learning! lol!! If you click on the image it will be better to see the happenings of our week!! :)

Well that is Week 2 already gone! I wonder what will this week bring?

This layout I created today following Heather’s instructions over at Home and Scraped! It was done live last night in the chat room, but as I had a very big day shop with my friend Pam I didn’t quite make it! lol!!

I used some Basic Grey paper from my stash and masked the tree with a paint dabber! I sprayed a bit of Glimmer Mist and I used some crackle paint on the scrolls!!

“Mid Week Sketch Challenge!!”

Tags

This lovely sketch is by Heather Waldron at Home and Scraped! Heather gives us a Mid Week challenge which is great to look forward to! She also has a scrap blog at

http://scrapysketches.blogspot.com/ you will find some great inspiration here to get the mojo going!!

This is my take on her sketch! I used a few more photos wallet sized instead of the 4×4 size and still had enough room!

You can make the sketch your own as it is a guide to help you place your photos, embellies and journaling!! All my bits and pieces are from my stash!! :)

Hop on over and have a peek!
