“Saying Goodbye”

It was really hard for mum, dad, myself and my boys to have to say goodbye to Buddy before Xmas! He has been with mum and dad since a pup and he has been a loyal and faithful companion for mum and dad! :)

Dad was really stressed about what was going to happen to him as they couldn’t take him into Mercy with them. My sister, and family have him and he is doing so well, and is now part of their family with their other dog and two cats :)

I wanted to scrap this memory so dad would have some pics of him and of course mum and I have seen him and he hasn’t forgotten us. :) Dad is happy knowing he is well looked after and he gets photos and reports from my sis :)

007I haven’t had much time to play in my scrap space, so today was lots of fun using a few things from my stash to do these pics. I accidentally used the criteria for Heather’s May challenge @ Home too, so bonus :)

I masked and misted the background and cut some pp for odd bits of the letters, I used some paint and texture paste on the heart and around the edges of the card stock and the washi tape, tags, alphas etc are from my stash :) I so miss scraping in my daily life at the moment and with no homework this week I am have a play. :)

“Life”

Just wanted to share a couple of pics from our visit to see mum today. She loved the canvas and got a little teary, but she seemed much better today

018 019 020                                       Got a few nice pics of mum and us :)

I also just wanted to show you this layout I did yesterday using Heather’s SBS over @ Home and Scrapped. It was nice to puddle in my paper and glue and I did this one of dad in the garden before he went into Mercy :)

008         This was fun using some misting and masking, distressing, and layering :) Not sure how much more I will get done today, but I have had a lovely day with my family :)

“A Bit Wishy Washi”

Yep, I do feel a bit that way at the moment! I have been really busy with my course and don’t have much time to scrap or do much! I have some nice new goodies and no time to play :(   I know a lot of you would be like this when life gets in the way!

I started cleaning up my book-case last week and I kept going, lol! I Cleaned up my scrap stuff and condensed my space a bit more to find things :) I have been thinking of a better way to have my stamps, inks stains, mists etc in arms reach on my desk as atm they are in baskets and over the other side of room :)   My washi tape was another problem not being able to see what I had to use it and not double up when I order new ones :)

Trying to find something that would suit my needs for what I had was getting impossible, until I stumbled across on Face Book a Victorian man that makes customized scrapbook/ craft storage :) Wow, what a clever man. Colin Cadd is a cabinet-maker by trade and he has turned his side business into a full-time business making us crafty storage.

I ordered a Washi Tape storage shelf and it is superb! The work he has put into them is amazing and so sturdy and functional. He lives in Maryborough which is about an hour passed Ballarat.

My sister and I decided to go for a drive to pick up my stand and to see other storage options he had :) He is making us both a shelf to store all our things on and have them all together. I cant wait to get it. :) I am lucky to be getting mine for my Birthday :)

004This gives you a good idea of the size and each shelf is slanted so the washi will come forward and the rails hold it on :) It was made in timber and I decided to give it a white wash effect with some Antique White Acrylic paint by diluting it with some water and rubbing it back with a cloth :) You can see the effect a bit better in this photo than the one I took with my phone :)

Colin’s business is called Colcraft and he is easy to find if you search for it :) You certainly wont be disappointed with your storage :)

“Scrapbook Savvy Blind Scrap”

This weekend is Scrapbook Savvy’s Cyber Crop and to start the weekend Sara hosts a Blind Scrap on their FB page :)  It was heaps on fun and of course doing it Blind with no photos along the way it is interesting to see how everyone interprets the instructions :)

This is my layout I created last nite using Sar’s great instructions and I hope it looks something like hers :)

002I used my Basic Grey ‘Clippings’ kit for this layout! I am very happy with the layout I made and was fun to scrap :)

25/4/2013

Today,

here in Australia and New Zealand it is Anzac Day. We have dawn services all over our country to remember all the brave soldiers that fought and died to keep us all safe :) Lots of us have traveled all the way to Gallipoli also to pay their respects to our fallen. We still have soldiers in Afghanistan, one of which is a friend of mine and I hope he is home safe and sound to his wife and family very soon. :)

Anzac-Day-Image-250-High                 At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.

LEST WE FORGET………

“Cousins are….”

As I got three loads of washing done and on the line and the boys were away for the day, I decided to use up the scraps from the canvas and create this layout!

009These pics of my cousins and I are great to have and scrap! John, Anthea, Loris and Marilyn were always there for Alison and I growing up. Sadly, Gary our closest cousin was taken way to soon. :( They always had time for us when we stayed with them and when we visited. Even though we don’t see a lot of each other we are still close. It was a great part of our childhood and we are still great friends :)
